    Fiat presentó en la competición Mille Miglia un 500 muy especial. Se trata del 500 Abarth Assetto Corse, el 500 más rápido hasta la fecha. Y es que, la potencia del 500 Abarth Assetto Corse está muy por encima de la versión Abarth, y por encima de la versión Abarth SS. De esta edición sólo se producirán 50 unidades, de las cuales, una unidad estará preparada para competir en las Mille Miglia (concretamente, la 00/49) y por tanto no estará a la venta, así que realmente habrán 49 unidades a disposición del público. El precio lo desconocemos, pero no nos imaginamos nada asequible. En concreto, cuenta con el motor 1.4 T-Jet potenciado hasta los 200 CV y 300 Nm de par y asociado a una caja de cambios manual de seis velocidades. Ahí no acaba la cosa: se le ha hecho una liposucción profunda mediante la supresión de paneles y tapizado y añadiendo materiales realizados en fibra de carbono, baquets de competición y por supuesto cuenta barras antivuelco en el interior para añadir protección al conductor y pasajero. Como resultado, se queda en unos impresionantes 930 kg, que si tenemos en cuenta su potencia, sólo de imaginarnos sus prestaciones nos entra un ligero mareo. Y como la potencia sin control no sirve de nada, cuenta con unos frenos marca Brembo: 305 mm delante y 267 mm detrás. Estéticamente, se diferencia de forma notable de la versión Abarth convencional. Cuenta con un kit aerodinámico que se compone de un alerón posterior, entradas de aire para refrigerar mejor los frenos, spoiler delantero, logotipos Abarth, banda roja en los laterales, capó con entradas de aire para refrigerar mejor el turbo, etc. Hay que añadir sus llantas de aleación de 17 pulgadas de color blanco y montadas sobre unas gomas 205/50 R17.
