NYT Editorial Bashes Obama's Recent Flip-flops
http://newsbusters.org/ blogs/ noel-sheppard/ 2008/ 07/ 04/ nyt-editorial-bashes-obama...
For several weeks, NewsBusters has been critical of the media for not exposing and critiquing presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama's campaign flip-flops. Well, on Independence Day, the New York Times editorial staff not only took on the junior senator from Illinois' recent changes of heart, but did so by implying that maybe he's change you can't believe in. Sure, cynics will point out this was done on a holiday at the beginning of a three-day weekend making it certain few people will see it.

Podcast: Would the Founders Be Proud?
http://www.f3coalition.org/2008/07/06/podcast-would-the-foun...Podcast Show Notes While more than 1,000 U.S. Troops show their patriotism on Independence Day, a liberal blogger questions whether it would be better if Americans had remained part of Europe. NYTimes Discover Obama Just A Lying Politician
http://rhymeswithright.mu.nu/archives/267913.phpAnd they are shocked -- but not shocked enough to abandon their support for him. Senator Barack Obama stirred his legions of supporters, and raised our hopes, promising to change the old order of things. He spoke with passion about breaking out of the partisan mold of bickering and catering to special pleaders, promised to end President Bushs abuses of power and subverting of the Constitution and disowned the big-money power brokers who have corrupted Washington politics. Now there seems to be a new Barack Obama on the hustings. * * * We are not shocked when a candidate moves to the center for the general election. But Mr. Obamas shifts are striking because he was the candidate who proposed to change the face of politics, the man of passionate convictions who did not play old political games. There are still vital differences between Mr. Obama and Senator John McCain on issues like the war in Iraq, taxes, health care and Supreme Court nominations. We dont want any redefining on these big questions. This country needs change it can believe in. Take that last line as a declaration of continued loyalty to the Democrat candidate. After all, when the newspaper starts quoting campaign slogans as their editorial line, it is pretty obvious that they are in the tank for the candidate in question -- especially when the slogan chosen is vacuous and content-free.
