Tim Burton Finds a Girl to Go Down the Rabbit Hole [Casting Couch]

    http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/ news/ tim-burton-finds-a-girl-to-go-down-the-r…

Plenty of names were thrown around about who would be Alice in Tim Burton’s live action adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, maybe the most rumored being Evan Rachel Wood. (What, was Helena Bonham Carter busy? She’s in every other film Burton’s ever made.) But after Wood alleged withdrawal it looks like Burton now has his Alice, a much less celebrated but equally talented actress, Mia Wasikowska.

    http://www.gearcritech.com/ index.php/ 2008/ 07/ 24/ bret-ratner-gow-disaster.ph…

Well the a while back there was a rumor floating around that Rush Hour director Bret “I Destroyed X-Men” Ratner would be directing a big screen adaptation of Sony’s mega hit franchise God of War, well it looks as if there is some weight to this story, coming out of San Diego’s Comic-Con today buried

Here’s the latest scoop on the sequel buzz spreading across Hollywood: The film that inspired a Broadway show and an update may soon spawn another creation: a sequel. New Line Cinema, obviously encouraged by the success of the High School Musical franchise (and last week’s debut of Mamma Mia!), has asked John Waters to begin writing a treatment for a follow to Hairspray.

Wolverine Shows Up Other Comic-Con Guests

    http://movies.gearlive.com/ movies/ article/ q107-wolverine-shows-up-other-comic…

San Diego is filled with costumed readers who delight in adventure and get a thrill from the works of Stan Lee. Scheduled appearances by stars like Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connolly, Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis made a big splash as Comic-Con, but it was the unscheduled appearance of Hugh Jackman that left everyone talking.

Seriously. Can you think of two more ill-equipped actresses to play his daughters? No. Fucking. Way. And we breathe. And hope that Johnny Depp is the fool, James McAvoy is Edgar and ... oh, I don't know, who's gonna be Edmund? Is Alan Rickman too old to be Kent? Tim Burton Finds His Alice (of Wonderland Fame)

    http://www.iwatchstuff.com/ 2008/ 07/ tim_burton_finds_his_alice_of.php

I totally forgot Tim Burton was making a new version of Alice in Wonderland, but yeah, he is, and word is he's found his lead in Australian actress Mia Wasikowska--and he didn't even have to look through the looking glass to find her! Haha! Try and top that, Hollywood Reporter! Tim Burton and Disney have found their new Alice -- not in Wonderland or down the rabbit hole but Down Under.

    Obama bores in Berlin

    http://blog.beliefnet.com/ crunchycon/ 2008/ 07/ obama-bores-in-berlin.html

I've got to write an editorial about it (one that doesn't reflect my views, necessarily), but my quit reaction to Obama's Berlin speech was: ho-hum. Look, I'm all for better relations with the Europeans. Absolutely. I'm tired of the Bush...

    Thoughts on the casting process

    http://jobsitetheater.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ thoughts-on-casting-process.html

With 5 of our 6 shows for 0809 now cast (and the last one not being cast until the beginning of November), I thought I'd post some thoughts on the whole process.
